My name is Saylenis Palmore (she/her). I was 21 years old when I wrote my story, “Damaged.” I am currently a senior at the University of the District of Columbia. Though I am still figuring out what I would like to do when I graduate, I know I would enjoy working for an organization that helps kids around the world.

For me, 2020 was a year of learning and mental growth. Focusing on my school work helped me get through it.  I hope that those who read my story learn that we are responsible for our own futures and that it’s never too late to start fresh.
