The walks to Burger King are something I really miss, the exciting part of it was walking with friends rather than heading to Burger King. Which is a example that it’s not the destination, but rather the journey during times like this. In my journey, I see my friends still trying to run for USGA (University Student Government Association), I have to pass my classes even though my professors are terrible with technology, and my professors are trying to be parents while teaching through the web cams. College students waking up at 5:00 AM is something I thought wouldn’t be common, but it is because the essentials are out of stock. I’m glad my friends are respecting the social distancing and we constantly check on each other to make sure we’re good. One of the things I’ve learned is to reconnect not only with others but with yourself, I’ve been so invested in school, work, other activities; it makes me question who I am without those things. I’ve learned to cook more, or rather I should say make creative food because I’m no chef. I’ve learned that there are people in my corner rooting for me, and it’s okay to lean on those people for support. I’ve been feeling more grounded with a lot of free time, I’m very happy that I’ve made reading more consistent. Reading takes me out of reality and puts me in the book with the characters in that different time, it’s my getaway. There’s 336 hours in two weeks and with every hour I try to take time to say one or a couple of good things about the day to keep me sane.
