Covid Concoctions

Covid Concoctions
by Jailah

During this quarantine, I was doing a lot of thinking.. Why do I keep eating outside food, why not start cooking homemade food? So I have made a lot of concoctions to make my quarantine a bit easier.

Ingredients:

Bread (any kind)

Sausage

Eggs

Green and yellow peppers

French Toast:

Personally, I chose to cook the french toast first. First take 3 or 4 eggs, depending on how much french toast you plan on cooking. Place all your pieces of bread in the cracked eggs, pinch of salt, and vanilla abstract or cinnamon. Make sure each piece of bread is fully covered in the mixture. Place your bread in your pan for about 3 or 4 minutes while continuing constant flipping until your french toast is as fluffy and brown as you want it.

Sausage:

For my sausage I wanted to add a little more flavor, so I used green and yellow peppers. There isn’t much to cooking sausage. Just place them in a pan with any extras you desire and sautee them for about 15 minutes.

Eggs:

Eggs are simple, crack as many as you want. Place in your cheese and onions, anything that you usually put in your scrambled eggs. As the eggs are cooking, take a spoon and mix them around until they have your desired texture. I also put green and yellow pepper also with onions in my scrambled eggs.

For Dorito and Cheeto Tacos:

Ground turkey

Ranch doritos

Hot cheetos

Nacho cheese

Ground turkey:

Place your ground turkey in a pan, season to your liking. Cook in the pan for about 10- 15 minutes. Drain all of your oil out of meat.

Nachos:

Place you nacho cheese on top of ground turkey, also place any chips of your choice on your nachos. Be creative. Make it pretty.

The connections to my recipe could be many things. I really haven’t cooked them in a long time. It’s way easier than buying food that only lasts a day. Why not just go to the grocery store and buy food that’ll last for a long period of time? I try to cook in the morning because I have a habit of not eating in the morning, and end up not feeling well throughout the day. I like it because it’s good, I haven’t had homemade french toast in a long time and I really have been wanting it for a long time.
