Coming Soon: Board Books with Generation Hope
Our summer writing workshop is complete! The scholar parents of Generation Hope spent two weeks learning what it takes to create a children's book, writing with the help of our story coaches, and bringing their characters to life with up-and-coming illustrators.
These students were excited to create stories that will inspire and resonate with young people like them. Adding to that excitement was knowing that these books would be used in the curriculum of Inspired Child, who shared their mission and supported our authors during the workshop.
Becoming an author can be powerful for both individuals and communities, changing the landscape of whose voices are elevated within children’s publishing. These board books will be joining more than 50 publications from Shout Mouse Press intended to further our mission of amplifying youth voices and creating opportunities for young readers to see themselves represented in stories.

As we speak, our illustrators are working on bringing the stories of these student parents to life. All four books will launch this fall first in a sneak peek oversized hardcover edition and then again as durable board books in early 2023.
