1). Lil Wayne - Blunt Blowin’

Lil Wyne basically summed everything that the media criticized him for into one phrase, and said yea that's exactly who I am. “I'm ah blunt blowin, Polo draws showing, I dont give a lovely m****rf**k a* ni**a..." I love how he expressed his level of apathy when it comes to what people think of him. I find inspiration in Lil Wayne's delivery. As he was able to unapologetically be himself, and it reminds me to do the same.

2). Duke Ellington & John Coltrane - In A Sentimental Mood

My Mom is actually the one to have put me on to this, but this is truly a piece of art. There’s a complex use of different sounds and instruments that come together to create this... this masterpiece. Also, great to listen to before sleep!

3). Erykah Badu - On & On (single)

What can I say that isn’t already well known? Badu is just a vibe..

4). Ben E. King - Stand By Me

“So darlin', darlin' Stand by me, oh, stand by me. Oh, stand, stand by me.  Stand by me” I hope these words are as memorable to you as they are to me. If only I could explain to you how this song manages to peer into my soul. The orchestral element was an excellent addition that took the song to the next level. Every time I hear this song, it's like I'm hearing it for the first time. I have a bit of an old soul.

5). Jay Z - Feelin’ It

This song says to me, " I'm arriving." It says that I'm starting to bear the fruits from my labor, and it's something that I find myself relating to these days. Although I don't have the wealth that comes with this feeling yet, I feel that day suddenly becoming clearer.

6). Germs, Guns, & Steel by Jared Diamond

This is my current read during these corona times. I absolutely love this book so far and highly recommend it to any avid reader.
