Tee's Cookoff

Tee’s Cookoff

Over the quarantine, I have been trying different activities that I once wasn’t into before. One of those happens to be cooking. I told myself that it’s about time I learn how to cook. If you know me, you know I’m not big in the kitchen lol. Anywho, one day I had decided that I wanted to try to make one of my favorite meals. I always get my mom to cook this for me. That meal happens to be spaghetti. I’m not sure why, but I love spaghetti. I don’t know if it’s the noodles or the sauce lol. Furthermore, let me take you step-by-step how I make and like my spaghetti (with the guidance of my mom lol).

First, you choose what meat you're going to use. Me, I’m not a big fan of meatballs, so I prefer either ground beef or ground turkey. After, choose your noodles. I usually go for the Barilla noodles. Lastly, add your tomato sauce.

After you have all your ingredients and you’ve let your meat thaw out, throw your meat in a heated pan. Grab a few seasonings to season the meat. I used season salt, salt, pepper and garlic pepper. Stir it all up in the meat whole, breaking the meat up into small pieces as you go. Once you have done this for about 10-15minutes letting the meat cook, the color of the meat should have transitioned to brown.

Once you start seeing that happen you can start working on your noodles. The noodles are not that hard; you just have to pay close attention to them. First, take a pot and fill it up halfway with water. Place it on the stove and allow the water to boil a little. Once it starts to boil, throw a slice of butter in the water with a few sprinkles of salt just to give the noodles a little flavor. Once you have seen the butter dissolve in the water throw your noodles in the pot. While letting your noodles cook for about 10-15 minutes, put your meat on low because by this time, it should be close to done. However, we want to keep the pot on to keep the meat hot until the noodles are done.

Once the noodles have softened in the water, run through the noodles with your fork to see how soft you want your noodles. Don’t leave them in too long because they will then become too soft, resulting in soggy noodles. Once the noodles are nice and soft and how you like them, cut both pans and pots off.

First, drain the water out of the noodles in the pot into the sink. Then, put the noodles back into its original pot. Next, drain the meat into the sink and then place into the pot with the noodles. Throw your tomato sauce in the pot as well and mix it all in real good. Then you're about done!

Place your spaghetti on a plate. I touch mine off with a little bit of sugar to give it a little sweet taste. After that you are all DONE! Enjoy!!:)
