Spirit

Spirit
by Aniyah

During this pandemic, it has been hard, yes, but it has also been awakening to me on a much higher level. We don’t know every answer and things change as the days go on, but with the help of a couple people that I have become so close with during these hard times, I am forever thankful. I am thankful for them helping me get through these times and really find myself. These close people are friends that are new, but it feels like we’ve known each other forever. I am firstly thankful for the path and awakening they have brought into my life that will forever stay with me. For example, I now meditate. Never in my life would I have thought that I would meditate, but I do-- and twice a day at that! I also am reading more and more books about spirituality and self-care. I can give thanks to my friends for helping me and welcoming me onto this path. They are my “hero.’ Though this may not seem like much, it is everything to me. It has helped me during these hard times to ground myself and not go insane with the uncertainty that is going on. When I wake everyday, I am welcomed by so much joy just by being here. Before meeting my friends, I wouldn’t have realized that. To realize how grateful I am and how equal we are during this pandemic is something I give to my friends. I call them my spirit (lol), or individually I call them Ken, My, Sino and DD. I love them and to them I was able to see the light even during this unsettling time.I just wish everybody could see the light and know that we all have so much to be grateful for!
