We, The Youth

We, The Youth
by Ayah

We the youth are not just the future, we are the present. We are as present as the adults. Both of our generations, and every generation in between, has an impact in our day-to-day lives, and inevitably, the future. There are no start over buttons when a generation dies out that makes another magically stands and creates changes. The only way we have the power and the ability to bring change is not by our age, but by what we do right now. Right now, I see my generation standing for others, painting the walls, thinking hard, and often doing the things that are just common sense. Many of us know how to be decent and loving because we have seen and felt the despicable and cruel, We are at the present moment the poisoned youth trying to store honey instead of venom. If you ask about the future, what should I tell you about it? Flip your coffee cup over? Shuffle some cards? I know nothing of the future, I don’t even know what will happen an hour from now. But as far as we, the youth go, we are the changing wave of the present, not just the future.
