Equal

by Marc Gaskins

When I write it is not to save anyone to mind. I write to write. It feels good when I write. My mind is usually clear, my body feels right, the planet turns at a slower pace, heck birds don’t poop on cars as much. Everything and I do mean everything falls into place when I write. There is usually music playing. I tend to keep the room dark with a candle or two burning. I could close my eyes with the pen to the paper and let my mind roam free. In a way my writing is to save me.

A world free of hate, racism, and injustice is still possible to obtain. It will not be easy by any means. We have to work side by side to find common ground. We have to be able to sit back and aid those most in need. We have to find love as love concerns all. Honestly I have never seen anyone frown or argue during a good meal. I would suggest a meeting over a great meal would help start the motor to a peaceful and sustainable society. After agreeing on those common grounds the possibilities to help every living soul in this country would be possible. We say here in America that everyone is equal and that no one is more important than the next… my question is when does that become a reality?
